Where to Eat in Kampot, Cambodia

with No Comments

Are you in Kampot and want to take a break from street food for once?

Here’s my two favourite places:
Rusty Keyhole

Own by two Britishmen, it sits on the riverside in front of the Market.
I suggest this restaurant if you’re in the middle of a long journey around Asia and just need a break from it all (we are all human after all) and a taste of back home – you feel it in the air as soon as you walk in this place!
They claim they serve the best pork ribs in all of Cambodia, I cannot confirm if it’s true or not, but the ones they have are truly succulent…  if you’re not up for such a treat and prefer a lighter meal, at Rusty’s you’ll find as well amazing French baguettes and traditional Khmer food – after all, it is still run by Cambodian people!
Price range: exceptional value for money, and cheap.
Om House
On the other side of the street from Rusty Keyhole, here it’s were I came for breakfast and a “sweet” break.
Slightly more expensive then nearby places, it offers a great selection of Asian and southern European food in a super chilled out environment which takes you to India for a moment…
Delicious Kampot Cheese & Bacon toast + Pineapple, Banana & Cocoa Smoothies… Yummy!

What’s good about Om is that it’s not only a restaurant, but also an organic shop, art gallery and workshops can be found there too. Nice, eh?

Here is their Facebook page with more info.

Price range: $ 5-10 for a meal.

Sorry about the images’ poor quality, they were all taken with my iPad!!

And if you were wondering, no, I did not get paid nor I received free food for this post 😉 (too bad for the latter!)
